Tracee’s Favorite Weight Lifting Workout Program
My favorite workout program has always been ChaLEAN Extreme by Chalene Johnson (with BeachBody). This is a weight lifting program that I have had huge success with in the past. It’s always been my favorite go-to. This last week was the first time in a long time since I last exercised.
When I started this workout program last week on Monday, November 16, 2015, I felt pretty good when I first started the workout routine, but it didn’t take long for me to feel exhausted and realize just how out of shape I was. Even so, I pushed through and completed the entire workout program. The saying is true, if you’re tired of starting over, STOP QUITTING! This is so true!
Last time I went through ChaLEAN Extreme’s workout program, I actually got strong enough that I was able to lift heavier weights than Chalene does in her video. And the best part, I felt GREAT! The best I had ever felt! I felt strong, and proud of what I had accomplished! I even helped tear apart our old wooden deck! So with starting up again, I found myself thinking, I wish I wouldn’t have stopped lifting weights!
Let me ask you something, are you open to lifting weights? Or are you afraid of the “weight lifting or weight training will bulk you up” myth? It really is a myth…the women who bulky, are that way by intent. Typically, they have taken extreme measures, including hormone therapy (steroids).
12 Reasons Women Should Lift Weights
According to an article on Women’s Health, the following are 12 reasons why you should include weight training with your workout program.

- Your diet will improve
- You’ll handle stress better

- You’ll be even smarter
Today I went through the same workout program that I did a week ago on Monday. Here are some realizations I’ve had just in this last week:
- I’m not as tired in the afternoon
- I have more focus with work
- I’ve been more productive
- My pants are not tight on my legs
- Slept better at night
- Don’t feel the extra flab on my back
- Was able to increase the weight on a couple of exercises so far
- Wasn’t as exhausted on rep 10 to 12
I’m so excited about getting back into my weight lifting program and I even LOVE the muscle soreness I have the day after! Sounds crazy, right? But it’s true. I know I’m doing something great and healthy for my body.
